Volunteering with Lifeline North Coast is a powerful way to make a difference in your local community while supporting a national mission — to create an Australia free of suicide. Based in Coffs Harbour, we offer several ways for compassionate, community-minded individuals to get involved in meaningful, life-affirming work.
Whether you’re supporting someone in distress over the phone, helping raise vital funds in our retail shops, or sharing our story as an ambassador, every volunteer plays a vital role in helping us deliver care, connection, and hope across the Mid and Northern NSW region.
Phone Crisis Supporters are at the heart of what we do. They offer confidential, one-off support to people in emotional distress or crisis. Through active listening and empathy, they help callers feel heard and safe during their most vulnerable moments.
Our Retail Volunteers help operate Lifeline’s network of pre-loved shops across the Coffs Coast. These stores generate essential revenue to fund crisis services, and our volunteers ensure they remain warm, welcoming places for both donors and customers.
Ambassadors help amplify our impact by representing Lifeline North Coast in the community, raising awareness, sharing personal connections, and leading local fundraising efforts.
No matter your background or skills, if you care about mental health, community wellbeing, and suicide prevention, there’s a place for you at Lifeline North Coast. In return, you’ll join a network of like-minded people, gain valuable experience, and have the chance to contribute to something truly life-changing.
