Push-up with Lifeline North Coast and Eno

Home / News and Events / Lifeline Blog / Push-up with Lifeline North Coast and Eno

Join our Ambassador Ian “Eno” Taylor as Lifeline North Coast launch The Push Up Challenge.

It’s fun and a great way to engage our community in mental health and share some light on conversations arournd self care and how to care for others who need help.

Over the month of June, from 1-24 June, the goal is to complete 3,139 push ups representing the number of Australians who died by suicide in 2020.

Push ups can be done anywhere and anytime, and exercise alternatives are welcome. This challenge fosters connection and is a great activity to complete with family, friends, workmates or as part of a community group activity. The goal is to facilitate learning and conversations about mental health.

There is no cost and its very easy to get involved – all you need to do is spread the word, and register via our website link : https://lifelinenorthcoast.com.au/push-up-challenge-2022, but we are hoping that our community will help us raise funds for Lifeline North Coast so we can continue to provide the critical crisis support and suicide prevention service to anyone who needs help – anytime, anywhere.

Each day via the phone app “Push for Better App”, or on the Push-Up Challenge website, participants can track their progress,  with the number of push-ups changing every day to reflect a vital mental health fact.

Our team want you to know that you don’t have to just do push-ups! You can choose to substitute push-ups with other exercise such as sit-ups or squats.  Or you can set your own push-up goal. And if fundraising isnt your think why not just donate for the cause? we appreciate every bit of help.

Why push for better mental health?

3,139 lives were lost to suicide in 2020. It is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15-49.

With 1 in 5 Australians experiencing mental health this year and only 45% of people seeking help.

Eno is our ambassador for the challenge, who will share his daily progress as he raises much needed funds for our centre, raising awareness and help us prevent further suicides in our local community.
